Machine vision optics is required to get appropriate focused image of your object. Lens can define quality and resolution of acquired image. Imaging Area of interest or Field of view (FOV) depends on focal length of lens and working distance between lens and object. Shorter the focal length, larger the FOV. Optical magnification of these lenses relies on camera sensor size and FOV. Aperture controls the light entering into it. Adjustable aperture ring can help to increase or decrease effect of light on imaging sensor. Lower the aperture, you will get maximum depth of field (ability of lens to be in focus in particular variation of distance).
Fixed focal length lenses are having optimum performance, flexibility, cost-effective and are suitable for larger FOV applications like Factory automation, Traffic & transportation, Tracking & Logistics, Laboratory automation, Medical & healthcare etc.
